3D Print Service FAQ
How do I request a quote?
How does that welcome offer work?
If this is your first time printing with us, and your print item can fit inside a 7in x 7in x 7in box (or any box of that volume), find the best quote you can on any nationally available online print service, and we’ll beat it by at least 5%!
This offer applies only to the print cost and does not include or affect shipping.
The offer is only good for your first print job with us and is subject to all the same restrictions as any other print.
What printing methods do you use?
Right now we can only do FFF printing. We’re good at it, but it does have limits. We won’t be able to handle items that require resin printing or other kinds of machining. Not yet, anyway,
Can you print anything?
Apart from prohibited items like weapons or weapon parts, there are other practical limitations based on our equipment. While we hope to expand over time, we’re currently not able to print anything larger than 22cm x 22cm x 25cm, at least not in one piece. For larger items, we’re willing to help modify them or split them into smaller pieces.
We may also notice that your design has some flaw that, in our opinion, will limit how good it will turn out. We’ll let you know if something looks unprintable in any way and suggest how you might fix it. We can even help you adjust the design if you’re not sure how; just ask.
What is your turnaround time?
We try to have items packed up and shipped out within 3 business days, but that time may vary based on machine availability, the size of your print, and whether you would like it printed in a special material or color. We’re happy to fill special orders, but printing in a material that we don’t have in stock may add a day or two. We’ll note any general slowdowns on the page for requesting a quote.
After we give you a quote, if you tell us that the the item is low priority and can be put on hold for up to an additional week, we’ll knock 10% off the quote.
What is your return policy?
We do not accept returns on printed items. If you receive an item that is defective because of a printer error, we will either give a refund or reprint the item for free. If the item is defective because of a design error, we cannot offer any refunds or free reprints. If you have an original design and you’re not sure whether or not it will work, consider taking advantage of our project consulting services. Designing, testing, fine-tuning, and reprinting are all included in that process.
Why can I enter my own price?
The price you enter is never guaranteed to be the price we quote. If it’s unreasonably low, we’ll make sure we’re on the same page about the print size and quality. But we’ll always take your offer into account. It helps us get an idea of how you view your project. We love printing things, and we want you to love it, too. If it’s clear that the price we determine is significantly more than you were expecting, we’ll work with you to figure out how to narrow that gap. If you ever think we’re overcharging, let us know. This service is for you, and you have negotiating power.
Why not generate instant quotes like other sites?
Automatically calculating cost based on materials and print time means that a large rectangular block might cost the same as an intricate set of interlocking parts if they’re the same volume. But those items require different amounts of fine-tuning and attention. Systems that treat them the same will either overcharge for simple prints or underdeliver on complex designs.
Your project is not just a number to us. We get to know each design, look at every factor, and come to a quote based on the time and effort needed not only to print it, but to make it work for you. We can out-price services that inflate costs for simple prints, and we can out-deliver services that treat your design like a line item.
We also give you a space in the form to offer a price that seems fair to you. Briefly explain your reasoning, and we’ll factor that in as well. We’re more than willing to negotiate a price that works for you.
